Rachele Barbieri Secures Liv Racing Xstra’s First Win of 2022!

Rachele Barbieri sprinted to the win on the final stage of the 3-day Bloeizone Fryslân Tour in Drachten, the Netherlands.

The three-stage Bloeizone Fryslân Tour – former known as the Healthy Ageing Tour – was the first race of 2022 in the Netherlands. Beginning Thursday, March 3 with a 14.4 km individual time trial, Liv Racing Xstra put down a solid start with two riders in the top-20. On Friday’s 135 km stage from Eastermar to Bakkeveen, Rachele Barbieri rode strong and finished fifth in the final sprint. The third and final stage consisted of a 139 km circuit around Drachten. After several splits and attacks, the race came back together in the final kilometers ending in a bunch sprint where Barbieri took the win aboard her Langma Advanced SL Disc.

“The team was fantastic today, they worked really hard and all believed in me,” said Barbieri. “I am really happy to finish it off this way. It is really a win of the whole team.”
