Liv Racing Collective athlete Allysa Seely wins bronze at the Para Triathlon World Championships in Spain, despite experiencing a crash early on in the bike stage.

Under sunny skies, the Para Triathlon World Championships took place over the weekend in Pontevedra, Spain. Allysa Seely of the Liv Racing Collective secured third place in the Women's PTS2 category, on her Avow Advanced Pro.

The challenging course included a 750-meter swim, a 20-kilometer bike race, and a 5-kilometer run. Reflecting on her performance, Seely commented, "My initial plan was going smoothly until I encountered a crash early in the bike leg." She continued "I have never experienced a race crash before, but once I came to a stop on the pavement, I assessed the bike's condition, ensured it was functional, and resumed riding."

Despite the setback, Seely displayed resilience and determination, finishing with a solid time only 70 seconds behind second place. "On one hand, I did not meet my expectations, but it's not accurate to say it wasn't my day. I was determined not to lose it, considering the challenging course. I never counted myself out and managed to secure the third position."

Seely had aimed to qualify for the 2024 Paris Paralympics, falling just short of the top two positions in Pontevedra. She expressed disappointment but remained optimistic, stating, "I aimed to secure a top-two finish to qualify for Paris. While I narrowly missed that goal, there are more opportunities ahead."

Stay up to date with all the upcoming action with the Liv Racing Calendar.
